Happy 3 Month Birthday to my little Sweetie Pie

David is 3 months old today! Of course as a mother I have to brag about the fact that I have the best baby in the whole world!!! All in all he really is such a sweet baby. He is now at 17 lbs and 15 oz and 26+ inches long (he wouldn't hold still long enough for me to get a good measurement). He is what we call large and in charge of our little household.

David...
Laughs and smiles lots
Likes to hold onto our fingers and stand
Likes his play mat and kicks and moves lots
Likes songs, his favorite right now is The Wheels on the Bus
Likes walks and car rides
Likes books
Loves Loves Loves his bath time
Likes to stay up late
Doesn't care for nap time too much
Still spits up lots

He is growing up so fast and doing so many new things. I can't believe how active he is and I am a little scared of what is going to happen when he starts to walk. But I am so grateful I get to stay home with him and experience all of his firsts.

*He loves to smile but of course as we were taking pictures today we weren't quick enough with the camera to capture it. But I still think he looks too cute!!!

Celebrating in Asheville

Doug and I just had our 7th wedding anniversary this last Sunday! I can't believe that it has been seven years since we tied the knot. Each year we take turns planning the anniversary, and this year it was Doug's turn to plan it. I came home from Utah on Thursday night and we packed up early Friday morning and hit the road for Asheville, NC to celebrate. Asheville is breathtaking. It reminds me of the west. Mountains and more mountains. After being in Houston this was a very exciting thing to see so close to our new home. I think we really needed a week or so to explore all that Asheville has to offer. We walked around downtown and had a nice dinner on Friday. On Saturday we hiked Chimney Rock at the Chimney Rock State Park. David did so well on the hike and the dogs loved it. I think they finally feel at home too. One thing I learned is that North Carolina has tons of apple farms in that area of the state, so there were lots of cute road side stands full of yummy things to eat, so we got our fill of treats too! We had a nice weekend together and I can't wait for next year, I already have something in mind, so we shall see.

Do you believe in Ghosts?

This house is the oldest house I have ever lived in, built in 1953, not as old as lot of other homes around here, but still old enough to freak me out a little bit. Doug told me that there is a high possibility that someone died here, only because the older a home is, the higher the possibility but I am pretty sure he just loves to torture me. He really only has to say one or two things and then my mind does the rest. It's pretty easy work for him. Well our bedroom has mirrors on the closet doors and all throughout the day I kept seeing a flash of light on them. Not just a little flash, but a huge flash. Mind you, it wasn't coming from the windows because they are all covered. I still haven't figured out exactly where they were coming from. I also had David in his swing earlier that day and when he started crying I turned off the swing and then picked him up (I remember distinctively turning it off) Well later when I was rocking him in his room, all of a sudden his swing starts swinging and is back on. I don't what you say about that, but I say FREAKY! Although it is a little weird I do have to say I still feel OK about being here. It really hasn't scared me, which is out of character for me, so I guess I will stay until something worse happens. And if that something worse happens you will hear about it!

We are finally a family again!!!

It feels so nice to be back together with Doug. We had the movers pack everything up last Tuesday and Wednesday and then they loaded the truck on Thursday. Doug flew in on Saturday and loaded the dogs up and left Sunday morning. Then poor Marissa and Al were forced to hang out with me until Marissa dropped me off at the airport on Monday evening. I was a little worried about flying with David because his schedule has been so off due to the craziness in our lives but he did absolutely wonderful!!! When we first got on the plane I couldn't find my seat. My boarding pass said our seat was INF but since all the seats are labeled with numbers I was a little confused. I asked the stewardess and she looked at me like are you serious? Well it turns out the boarding pass I was looking at was David's, and apparently the IN is for infant! Yeah I know I really should have blonde hair, but I will use the excuse that I am a Mom now and my brain just doesn't work right all the time. But she did inform me that my seat was 1F which meant I got bumped to first class.Ya-Hoo !!! It was just a lucky night for me, at least until I went to find my baggage. Yeah my luggage was lost with my toothbrush and all. Bummer, but luckily it was just back in Houston and I got it the next day. Our movers unpacked all of our stuff on Wed. So far it has been our easiest move, but now I have all the many boxes to go through so we shall see. I've included some pics of our house right now. It is a crazy crazy mess, but I will have to post pics when it is actually put together. Hopefully it will be sooner than later. David only allows me to do a little bit at a time.
