6 month old Davey

Davey is now 6 months old. His personality is coming out and I am loving every moment of getting to know him. He is now 21 lbs and 13 oz. He has two new teeth. The top two came in a few weeks ago and he loves chewing on anything he can get his hands on. He is sitting by himself. He now rolls all over the place. This morning I put him on his bedroom rug to play and a few minutes later he had rolled across the room and pulled out all of his washcloths that I had in a basket on the bottom part of his changing table. He loves to laugh and smile. Every time you look at him he can't help but smile. He started sleeping really well through the night, but now his schedule is out of whack since we left for Branson. Hopefully he will be back to sleeping well again in the next few nights. He loves baby food, so far sweet potatoes are his favorite. Peas are his least favorite. He is finally starting to not spit up as much. He still loves it when we sing to him. He has his own theme song that we have been singing to him for a few months and when he starts to cry and we start singing it he gets real excited. It is too cute!

Thanksgiving

This time of year I love! Sometimes it is nice just to reflect on all of the blessings that we have in our life. Thanksgiving last year is when we announced that we were expecting David. I am so grateful for him, and for being able to have such a little miracle join our family. I am also very grateful that Doug has a wonderful job and that I can stay home with Davey.

This year we were able to spend Thanksgiving with Doug's family in Branson. Davey was able to meet his Uncle Dave and Aunt Jean and cousins Holly, Nick, and Meghan for the first time. We drove the 14+ hours and David did wonderful on the way out. He hardly cried. But when we headed back home he had a harder time. He didn't want to be in his car seat, so we ended up splitting the drive into two days and stayed the night in Nashville. It was so nice to be able to break up the drive. Hopefully we will plan early next year so we can fly.

Enjoying the Fall Leaves

We went and did some hiking at a park in Charlotte a few weeks back. The colors were beautiful and we made it just in time. A few days later a storm came and most of the leaves fell off all the trees. Davey loves his stroller, and did so well. The dogs had a blast as well.

Five Month Old Davey

It seems like I had just posted that Davey was four months old, wow has the month flown by. David has made lots of progress these last few weeks. He is currently 20 lbs and 11 oz.

*He is now eating sweet potatoes, and loves them. He didn't even make a funny face the first time he tried them.
*He loves to spit and make funny faces.
*He rolls all over the place and is very active
*He loves to laugh and have me sing to him
*He loves to grab everything in sight
*He tries to push himself up while on his belly, but still doesn't quite know how to do it
*Bath time is still his favorite activity
*Loves being outside, he can be screaming at the top of his lungs and the instant he steps outside he is quiet

He is still a happy baby, and the best part is that his personality is starting to come out. I love it!

Trunk Or Treat

We ended up taking Davey to the ward Halloween Trunk or Treat. We had a chili cook off, bond fire and all. It was lots of fun. Davey was a Monkey, thanks to Kyra's idea Doug was a Monkey Zoo Keeper and I was a cowgirl (it was an easy costume I already had). We had a fun night seeing everyone that dressed up. Also by the time we got home we realized we didn't have many pics of David and so we took a few. He was so sleepy he just kept falling asleep in my arms. It was so sweet!

Aw Shucks Farm

The leaves have turned and are now falling, and the temperature is dropping ever so quickly, so it only felt natural to walk through a corn maze and jump on the back of a tractor for a nice little hay ride. Aw Shucks Farm is a really cute little place that is just south of Monroe. Both David and Doug seemed to enjoy themselves. We saw some farm animals, played horseshoes, walked through a corn maze, rode on a hay ride, walked around a pond, and swung on some old fashioned swings. It was one of those days that was just low key and fun! I love my two boys!!!
